Didn't take the time yesterday morning to post even though I had done the piece....so here are two for today.

Year of Giving #20--SOLD ON ETSY

Almost 3 weeks in....I'm still enjoying this new year, coming up with different sayings to use. Not all faith-related, but hopefully motivational or maybe even funny. I am collecting donations this year for American Cancer Society or St Vincent de Paul Society. If you would like one of these pieces of original art, e-mail me for details. If they aren't requested, I list them on etsy the next day, which might be an easier way to get them for $5.

It's funny....I was sort of "complaining" yesterday that people haven't been donating/requesting pieces, and then yesterday's was requested and she said she loved the donation idea. So, I guess I am too impatient and should just keep posting. I do wish that I could sell some that I've posted on my etsy site (link at right). If I write it down, will that make it happen:)? I found this on Pinterest of course, and didn't think it really sounded like Winne the Pooh, so I googled it, and that's what all of the quote sites say, so I guess it must be true:)

The funny thing is, when I switched to asking for donations instead of giving these small pieces of art away, I thought I actually might get more people to ask for them. I thought that some people thought that once they asked for one, they shouldn't ask for more...but if they gave a donation for them, they would feel better about taking them.  But I've only had requests for 6 of them, and gotten money from 2, so far. I am collecting money for either the American Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul Society..asking for $5 or whatever you can/want to give.

Personally, I don't need coffee shops:) but the rest I definitely need...especially other people. Sometimes working from home can make for lonely days. But hopefully spring will help that. We will have a taste of it today, but who knows when it will be back for good.

I think this would help immensely if everyone could just think of these three things when dealing with a difficult person. They may be afraid or missing someone, but at the very least, they love someone and someone loves them...even if it is just Jesus at the moment.

I've liked this one for awhile now and finally got around to lettering it. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's day....we danced at the CasaLoma...a ballroom in St. Louis that has been around forever. Lots of fun! As always, available for a $5 donation to either the Am Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul society.

The difference this year, is I was hoping to raise a little money for charity. Trying to stay with the LOVE theme for Valentine's Day...only 2 days away. I'm not usually so preoccupied with that day, but we have plans:) Going to get all dressed up and dance the night away at an old time ballroom with 30 friends...looking forward to it!

I really liked this one, then when I was writing it, started wondering about the wording:) Maybe it should have read "The meaning of life is to find your gifts, the purpose of life is to give them away."...because it could be read that the purpose of life is to give ("IT") your life away. But maybe others won't read it like that...

Not alot of takers on these first 5 pieces...not sure if it is the choice of sayings...do I need to stick to the faith sayings more? Or is it because I am asking for donations this year? Anyway...whatever is not requested and mailed off to a recipient will be offered on my etsy site...see items listed below:)

I was trying to stick with more secular sayings but found this one as I was looking for quotes about stars to letter on a piece of painted furniture. Thought it was definitely worth doing, and since I hadn't found it on Pinterest, I was afraid I'd forget it if I didn't do it today:)

This is the 4th day of my new 365 project, and these pieces of art are all available for a (suggested $5) donation to either the American Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul society. If you are interested, please contact me so I can give you my PayPal info and get your address to mail your artwork to you. These are all 4" x 5", but usually fit fine in a 3 1/2 x 5 frame.

Thank goodness for tomorrows....I sure wasted yesterday! It was the day after the snow and I didn't feel like venturing out in it. But, I didn't do anything productive either. So, I'm hoping today will be a better day!

These are still available for the asking, but I am requesting a donation to charity. See yesterday's posting. Well, I guess that was something productive I did, but that's about it:)

Year of Giving #1--AVAILABLE ON ETSY

Okay! I am beginning year 2 of this 365 project that I have come to love...become addicted to, whatever you want to call it! I am shifting focus just a bit. Not as many faith related sayings, but motivational, still inspirational, and hopefully something to make you smile occasionally. The big difference this year, is that I am collecting donations for the artwork. And any that aren't requested right away, will be posted on my 5DollarMarket etsy site...see MY ETSY SHOP...to the right of this. If you click on the thumbnail that interests you, it will take you directly to that page:)

To start with, I am collecting for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at our church..an organization that helps the poor in our parish. My dad volunteered with them at his home parish and it just seemed fitting. He was born and died in February, and I thought it would honor him in some small way. For those who might like a more worldwide charity, I am also collecting for the American Cancer Society because my mom died of breast cancer (also born in February....today actually). So anyone interested, can contact me, and I can tell you how to send me your donation ($5, or whatever you choose...less or more), and I will send you the art.

Final day of this 365 project! Can't believe I made it a whole year...and that I am planning to continue. Not sure how wise that is, but it really has become an important part of my day. More tomorrow...

I think I've decided on a name for year 2: The Year of Giving....because I want to collect $5 for each piece that people request and give the money to charity. Also, if pieces aren't requested, I can list them on my 5DollarMarket etsy site for a $5 donation, too. Most of the pieces will still be inspirational, but maybe not as faith-based, though I know I still have tons of those I can use...maybe one a week. I may change charities every month, or even request ideas for charities. I have 3 days to decide! I switch to year 2 on my mother's birthday, February 5th.
