Year of Inspiration 359--STILL AVAILABLE
Yesterday, I made another 120+ little sheets of paste paper to use for my next 365 project....which obviously will start in 6 days. It's always kind of exciting to have a whole new stack of "art" to choose from. This is one of them.

Year of Inspiration #354--STILL AVAILABLE
Artwork #354
It is freezing cold outside today, which makes me want to just cuddle up under a blanket and watch TV...so I thought maybe this would help me change that attitude. But if not today, I think I need to blow this up and mount it over my TV...especially in the summer!

Year of Inspiration 348
Artwork #348
I'm thinking that this year's 365 project should have been called the Year of Faith.....and maybe the next one should've been Year of Inspiration...but too late for that! Maybe it will be the Year of Motivation with sayings like this, or the Year of Being Positive, or the Year of Hope and Joy because I'd like to include things that might make us laugh. Or maybe I should just call it Year 2:)

Year of Inspiration 347
Artwork #347
Just realized I used the same paper as yesterday. I'm getting low on paper choices I guess. It's time to make more paste paper for year 2 of this 365 adventure. Been saving a lot of other sayings on Pinterest...ones that may be motivating, but not necessarily God related. Also some funny ones that might strike a chord. Don't want to ditch the faith-filled sayings completely, but there are a lot of other worthwhile thoughts and lessons out there that I'd like to use. We'll see how it goes.

This one has a "typo" in it...my friend, the proofreader, subtly pointed it out to me. Did you catch it?

Three Danish writers
This is a piece that I just completed as a gift for a Danish family who will be hosting my youngest son for his semester study abroad program in Copenhagen. I chose 2 quotes by three different Danish writers and combined them all using my original calligraphy and painted paste paper. The "Living is not enough" and "fairytale" quotes are by Hans Christian Andersen. The "difficult times" and "salt water" quotes are by Isak Dinesen and the "to dare" and "life can only be understood backwards" quotes are by the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out (although like any artist I could point out its faults:). I hope that they like it! We know they speak English very well. Just hope its not weird having artwork in their house that is in English instead of Danish.

Year of Inspiration 338--STILL AVAILABLE
Artwork #338
I have a calligraphy project to do today that I am excited about. I am going to do a piece of original art for Evan to take to his host family when he studies abroad in Denmark. Decided to use quotes from Isak Dinesen, Hans Christian Andersen and Soren Kierkegaard...all Danish. I hope they like it!

Year of Inspiration 337
Artwork #337
Been thinking about the next 365. I might request a $5 donation to one of two charities...either the American Cancer Society (in honor of my mom who died of breast cancer) or St. Vincent de Paul Society for my dad (who volunteered at the one at his church). I guess I would have to collect the donations, and send them in occasionally when I get enough. I might keep 10% of each $5 to cover the postage. Don't know if that will make people ask for more or less....in a way, it might make them feel they can ask for the art because they are doing something to get them, or doing some good. Still time to mull it over though...this is what I came up with while too cold to get out of bed this morning...it is -7 outside and only 60 degrees in my house!

Year of Inspiration 336
Artwork #336
I started this 365 project 11 months ago...so one month from today it will be complete. But, I am not sure that I can stop. I may change angles a bit....maybe more motivating pieces like this one, or maybe even some funny ones. I don't want to get away from the faith angle entirely, but maybe open it up to a broader view...still thinking. Do I want to change the papers too? Maybe make it more of a challenge calligraphically...trying to use more styles and not depend on my old standbys? Change the size of the pieces? Do I still want to offer them for free, or maybe request a donation to a charity...This may take some thought:)
